I'm not sure that it's necessarily a ';fad';, as someone else said, I think it's more of a preference. But regardless of that it definitely isn't an ';American'; one. People all over the world do it, yes even in European countries.
As for shaving pubic hair being normal. To be honest, it isn't. There is hair down there for a specific reason. If it were normal to be hairless in the places that we shave, they would be hairless to begin with, ya know? lol. Some people do it, some people don't. Some people just trim it down.

Well, i don't feel confident and good about my self unless my hair is washed and flat ironed that day. It's not curly but I like it when it's clean and ironed. Of cos, i dont mean you need to shave your head bald, just apply the liquor regularly and hopefully it works.Good luck to you.

My hair is waist length. I have not cut it since I converted to Apostolic Pentecost 3 years ago. God spoke to me and I felt convicted about my hair. No one has told me that I can't cut it, but after studying the scripture and prayer I know it is right for me.
As for your question, my long hair doesn't bother me. I condition it regularly so it doesn't look dry and brittle. I love my long hair. I won't ever consider cutting it.
The scripture tells me that my hair is for my glory. It is a symbol of my submission to God and to my husband. God will make the decision how long my hair needs to be. If I were to get sick and all my hair fall out that would be God's decision also.

It also tends to develop faster, which in theory will cause less damage because the color will not be sitting on your hair as long.
