For a woman wearing long hair, she gets her hair relaxed every 6-8 weeks. My friend tells me that every time she gets her hair done, (every two weeks), no matter who does it, she always gets it relaxed yet again. I fear that this may damage her hair completely. 6 - 8 weeks is the norm.. but every 2 weeks... i'm laughing.. Her stylist has her fooled into taking all her money.. it costs so much more to relax than to just wash/blow/curl.. She must be forking over 60 - 80 every 2 weeks..





The relaxer/touchup is for getting the new growth straight.. what new growth can she POSSIBLY have in 2 weeks.. Hair does not even grow that fast that she has new hair in 2 weeks that needs to be relaxed..

Tell her don't do it. Her hair is bound to fall out. If her hair grows super fast and she needs a perm every two weeks then that is okay. Black hair is way different from white hair. Our hair can dry out at the drop of a pin. If she gets it permed every two weeks, she is not giving her hair enough time to grow. She is perming it at the first sign of new growth. I can understand not wanting new growth but just get a hair style that moves around your new growth. Like flat ironing it or pinning it up. Luck.

It is definitely okay for women to have short hair. Some look better with short hair than others, but it is a person's choice on their hair length. People's hair don't effect what type of a person someone is. People often use their hair to try to compliment their personality, but short haired women aren't any worse than long haired women.
Yes, some woman look good with long hair but many woman look beautiful with short hair too. Short hair is perfectly fine with me. And I highly doubt that God would mind if a woman had short hair. yes,the bible does say that a woman's hair is her crown,but what God meant was just take care of it. You can have long hair but if its full of dandruff and all damaged and smelly and just plain nasty...that's no better then beautiful hair that's short is it??
Why not? I mean they are people, why not let them control their bodies and hair on it as an expression of themselves? They can shave themselves bald for all I care, but I prefer women that have hair.





What bugs me is that most of the schools I've been to (everyone in this town as a matter of fact) prohibit guys from growing out their hair or let people dye their hair...I really stinks how they think women have hair rights over us. And by not long I mean they don't let it touch the collar. And the only person it would distract that I know would be the teachers. Yet schools still prohibit it.





So, it doesn't bug me at all how women have their hair. What bugs me is when people won't let anyone control their hair.

In other words a man with long hair looks like a woman from a distance, which is not appropriate. Men should look like men and women like women in every way. I think the exact quote is 'a womans hair is her crowning glory';. It' doesn't say it has to be long, because, frankly, some women look horrid with long hair, myself included. I think all men and cultures agree that hair adds something to women that it doesn't to men, and it's a huge asset when used to display feminine beauty. Some women look lovely and feminine with long hair, some with short, that's how God made us!
I doubt an omnipotent being is going to care too much about the length of everybody's hair. There are more important things in life than hairstyles.

I cut my hair to between my ears and chin length for the first time a few months ago, pretty much all of my life I had that super long, past waist length, wavy black hair and I just go so tired of having to spend so much time brushing it out every day and I wanted a change so I found a style I really liked and got it cut that way. Well, I think it's less common today, women are keeping their hair longer. I think it's more youthful and feminine. I think really short hair can actually be quite ageing and unflattering, as it only suits a certain kind of face. When I say long hair, I don't mean butt length, but chin length, shoulder length and chest length looks good on all ages HTH : )

Shorter hair is easier to manage. It's alright to chop it all off when you get the a point in your life when you realize that looks aren't as important as they were when you were in your 20's, and that you aren't looking for acceptance from anyone. Easier to maintain probably. Also some older women maybe have a harder time with bending their elbows and the brushing of long hair.Im not trying to be an *** just that arthritis maybe prevents long hair and makes short easier. Of course im 26 so I dont know.My hair is long though I dont think Id ever cut it short.
My guess would be ease of care, or maybe they're caving in to style guerillas who think it's neater. I am over 50 and mine is half way down my back. I haven't cut mine for 3 years, and have told several people to myob - including a stylist who is my friend.

No way. I wish I did look good with short hair, so I am just happy for them when they do look good. It's like putting lipstick on a pig - what if I had Anjelina Jolie's hair and the rest looked like Ugly Betty? It's all about confidence and what makes you feel good that will translate into looking good to others.





I know I look better with longer hair - otherwise I would try it again. Plus they have good extensions these days - so even if you do get the wrong cut you can ';fix'; it ASAP.

Most of the women in my family have hair that is above their shoulders. I have had mine long for so long and my husband love it so I have chosen to keep it long.

Recently my wife went with me to my barbershop to get her hair cut. She has always worn her hair quite short but he really buzzed her. He cut her sides and back with a #2 clipper blade(1/4';) and the top is less than an inch long. Around the ears and up the nape it is tapered to the scalp. He actually shaved her neck and sideburns with a straight razor. I love the way she looks now, but I must say it is very severe. During the time that I had really long hair, I was harassed by random men. Now that I have shorter hair, it happens less. As far as the work place goes, it doesnt look professional to have long hair unless you know how to style it properly.
It might be to do with confidence. Some (not all by any means) women, have long hair as a curtain to hide behind. Other people might be picking this up and stereotyping all women with long hair as having low confidence. Maybe...





I have just had my hair cut. After 6 years of having really really long hair, I now have hair to just under my ears. I do feel a bit more confident in myself, but the admiring glances from men are a little less (but at least they tend to listen to me more).
I had short hair for many years while my children were really young, but about three years ago I grew it out to beyond shoulder length and colored/streaked it a golden red/brown color from it's natural dark auburn. All of a sudden men started really looking and I became a little bit more flirtatious. I then started wearing really high heels and dressing sexier, which caused more looking and a change in persoanlity for me. I know it sounds negative, but it has really given me a boost in self-esteem.
I've always had long hair and I never plan on cutting it. Men love long hair which works out great for me. There are times when my hair is a cute mass of curls and I'm dressed very pretty so I';m not taken seriously. There are times I'll wear a blue power suit and pull my hair back and take on a more authoritative demeanor and BAM respect.

I work as a manager in an office, %26amp; I find that hairstyle, along with how you`re dressed change the way people perceive me. I find men take a woman with short hair more seriously, %26amp; flirt a whole lot less. I think the most profesional look is a sharp suit, with hair tied back. This seems to confuse peoples built in perceptions. One thing women can do that men can`t is to change their image daily. This means you can present the right image for what you are doing, wether at work or socially.
A lot of people steroetype women with long hair as having ';wild'; or ';hippie'; type personalities for some reason. I've had it both long and short and even with it short people didn't take me seriously because it was an ';edgy'; hairstyle. The only time people don't stereotype me is when I have my hair pulled back neatly. A lot of people treat me differently when I change the color of my hair as well.
