I really need a new straightener, mine is too small and kinda damaging my hair. Anyone know if this one is any good or not?Would a Wigo庐 Professional 2录'; Ceramic Flat Iron be a good hair straightener to use?
I DONT KNOW I HAVE A CHI.Would a Wigo庐 Professional 2录'; Ceramic Flat Iron be a good hair straightener to use?
I have Wigo 2 1/4 Flat Iron and I must say I LOVE IT!!! I set my dial to the appropriate number and it works great. Of course CHI Irons are one of the best but also one of the most expensive but maybe you can contact a salon and ask this which they prefer based on your type of hair or the look your going for. Good Luck
it's alright. But your best bet is to invest in a Chi. I consider it the best flat iron on the market. It runs about $140 but it's worth every penny. You get what you pay for.
Wigos break fairly easily, not very reliable, and they fry your hair. All flat irons will fry your hair to a certain extent, but some will do it more than others. If you don't get the flat iron I recommend, at least make sure that it is ceramic, they don't damage your hair as much. When you flat iron your hair, you will also want to use a protective spray/product. I don't know any offhand, but I'm sure you can find a good quality one. The flat iron I have is a 1 3/4 inch (I think), it's a Sedu. I got it off of www.folica.com it's a great site to get flat irons, it's reliable, and much cheaper than if you were to buy it from a salon. CHI's are also phenomenal, not the most reliable, but they work wonders.
Either a CHI, or a Sedu.
Good luck!

What countrys does the Sedu Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron Hair Straightener (Euro Edition)?
I am going to England, France, Italy, Switzerland, and Greece, and i would like to know what countrys that this flat iron works in, so i can see if i should buy it or not. What countrys does the Sedu Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron Hair Straightener (Euro Edition)?
Voltage and frequency are the same all around Europe (220/240 V 50 Hz); plugs may be different according to the Country, so you may need a plug adapter. The only difference between Sedu Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron Hair Straightener (Euro Edition) and Sedu Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron Hair Straightener (UK Edition), for instance, is just the plug.

What Is The Best Ceramic Flat Iron Straightener For Black Women With Long Natural Hair?
I am a African American and I have long thick hair, I'm about to start using the ceramic flat irons instead of those old fashion straightening combs (talk about an upgrade lol) and I don't know which one is the best for my hair. I went to a hair salon in Jan 2008 and the guy who did my hair, used a Flat Iron. After when he was finished with my hair it felt so soft and sleeky! the ceramic that he used was called,'; The Ion Brilliant W/D.'; I was so pleased of the results of what he did because normally if I had gotten my hair done with a straightening comb, it would have taken me 3 1/2 hrs!! to get finished. After about a week or 2 had past, my hair didn't feel as sleeky like it was before when i got it done, It was almost about to go back to it's Natural texture!! So I had to continuously put hair grease and oil sheen in my hair to keep It moist. This has never happen to me before!! until i decided to get a ceramic flat iron instead of a straightening comb what should i do?What Is The Best Ceramic Flat Iron Straightener For Black Women With Long Natural Hair?
I recommend going to this site and looking at their flat irons ...they have just about every brand and you can read user reviews and figure out which one works for your type hair. This is a good site to buy from....they ship really fast and the prices are pretty competitive. I am sure you could get them on Ebay but I really don't think they would honor your warranty if something would happen.

if you get one of those wet dry straightners, its better for hair
hi
i would recommend a CHI flat iron for you. i have been a hairstylist for over 20 years, and i love them. i find that the hair is silky and shiny when i am done, and i can use it on any type of hair. another great brand if babyliss, and they have great ceramic irons. either of these brands are worth the money. i would also recommend using a flat iron spray----go very lightly with it---just a fine mist. this will protect your hair from the heat, but if used properly, wll not make your hair feel sticky. good luck, and forget the straightening iron!!! they are hair killers!!!
chi isnt not 100% ceramic...so no.
but baby bliss nano are the best!
and sallys has a couple of good ones too.

noMy naturally curly hair is damaged from ceramic straightening and does not curl anymore. can i reverse this?
Eventually. There are lots of shampoos for damaged hair. Use that, and don't wash your hair every day. Try to avoid using ANY products- and I mean even a hair dryer if you can. Then have your hair trimmed, and see if the stylist can give you extra tips or products as well. Go to someone you trust. Wash your hair with Dove shampoo. I'm not for sure exactly which one but it's in a dark blue bottle and it's just for damaged hair. Just let your hair grow out and get a hair trim at least once a month.
yeah probably. this happened to my sister. stop straightening it for a while! and when you do... dont straighten it too often.
use shampoo and hair products for damaged hair. eventually it should work.

No problem!
To make the curls last longer, spray in some hairspray and use a little mousse before you curl it.
you can't curl your hair with a straightener
You will not be able to do that unless you want ';blocky'; curls all over your head. Why I'm saying this, is because that is a hair straightener. Try getting a curling iron that is shaped like a cylinder. Get a skinny one though, it will shape around your hair better, and your curls won't be too big.
you can only curl the bottom of your hair with a straightener. to do that look, you need a curling iron sorry hun.
How to Straighten your Hair With a Flat Iron
http://homebeautytips.blogspot.com/2007/
I think you can achieve that look but put your straightener on a lower setting and if your hair is long like in the picture start closer to the root of your hair and continue to twist your straightener to the end of you hair.
you can curl your hair with straighteners but with the size of your straighteners your curls will be tighter than mischa barton's in the picture. what you need is a large set of curling tongs...
I curl my hair with the straightner all the time...
I have a Fhi and a Chi. It'll do it with both.
probably not, you need a curling iron or curlers, put loosely in your hair for the wavy effect you like.
You can. Especially since your straightener is skinny--1''. You'd have to curl it smoothly (like, don't stop when curling) so that dents don't appear in your hair. Skinny straighteners like yours can do a great job curling hair like that! =)

Is it necessary to curl human hair weave with a ceramic iron?
You can use curlers. You dont neccessarily need the heat all the time. If you're curling the weave with your own hair then you may not want to set your own hair up 2 break off.
my best advice is to ask a real hair professional. Its easy 2 call up a local salon and ask.Is it necessary to curl human hair weave with a ceramic iron?
No, its not but with ceramic curlers it heats the hair evenly and you don't have the burn and you dont have to use high heat. This may only be me but the hair stays silky and soft.Is it necessary to curl human hair weave with a ceramic iron?

I have thick, coarse, wavy hair I am looking for a ceramic hair straightener that also curls the ends. any tip
The Chi Iron is the best iron on the market (aside fromt he mythological infrared iron). It can cost between 89-140 dollars... I strongly recomend you purchase it at a salon. Professional products are not guaranteed by the company if they are purchased somewhere that does not have a salon license. The one-inch iron is easy to use for fliping ends, simply flip the iron in or out as you are reaching the last 3 inches of your hair shaft.I have thick, coarse, wavy hair I am looking for a ceramic hair straightener that also curls the ends. any tip

Can you use ceramic straightener to get some curl or wave in your hair?
I do not have curly, wavy, or overly thick hair. But I want that smooth look that you get after you have your hair styled by a professional. I also want some curl. I'm thinking about buying a straightener that has rounded ends so that I can get some wave or curl like what a curling iron does. Is it possible to get some curl from a straightener? The reason I'm looking into this and not a curling iron is because along with the curl, I want that smooth look that a straightener provides. Can you use ceramic straightener to get some curl or wave in your hair?
Yes you can obtain the salon straight hair by using the chi ceramic iron. The Chi iron is awesome and worth the investment. To obtain the curl or a little body at the end, start the chi flat iron at the root and slowly pull it down the section of hair. As you get towards the end start rolling it under until you reach the end. Just let the hair glide straight through to the end. Good luck in achieving your look. Can you use ceramic straightener to get some curl or wave in your hair?
yes, just make sure you get the thinner flat irons that can function as a flat iron and a curler.
yes curls and waves are possible if you have a curler or wave iron that is ceramic
I've heard somewhere that you clamp your hair near your roots then kind of turn the flat iron so the ends of your hair are like going up like a fountain and you go down your hair it gives you curls. I've never tried it before but it's supposed to be like what happens when you curl a ribbon. They also sell two in one straightners and curlers.
Yes you can get a very soft curl with these. The trick is knowing how to use them. You have to be a little fast as not to have the heat on the hair too long.

i dont now that but u could try the rollers that u could put in ur hair over nite and also i tink that they all uhmm fry ur hair coz pplz hair is frigal it gets damaged a lot quickly and espessially if u stay in the sun for long u get a tan and ur hair gets BADLY DAMAGEDDoes anybody know what ceramic flat iron and curling iron is the best buy and won't fry my hair?
All will damage because of the intensity of the heat. Good brands are Rusk, Chi, %26amp; Paul Mitchell. Rusk is a bit less expensive and works great and it is more comfortable on your hand. If you want to minimize the damage check out the Rusk Str8 line that helps to protect your hair.Does anybody know what ceramic flat iron and curling iron is the best buy and won't fry my hair?
this brand called forever, her styler
SEDU! I have tried the Chi, the Solia, the MaxiGlide, not to mention Gold-N-Hot, and have had nothing but success with the Sedu flat iron. The plates are tourmaline/ceramic, you can control the temperature, and the iron is not heavy. I have 4a/3c hair (super curly, medium coarse) hair, put the iron on the 3rd or 2nd highest setting, and it straightens AND silkens my hair with one swoop. I have not yet experienced any severe damage (of course, anytime you apply heat to your hair, you receive damage of some sort, but my hair is still healthy, shiny, and I don't trim my ends more than usual).
The Sedu isn't cheap; I bought mine from folica.com for $115, but I've had it for almost two years now with zero problems.
I have a tourmaline curling iron I bought from Walgreen's or CVS (about $13.00), and I'm happy with it.
No matter what iron you get, heat protection and keeping your hair sufficiently moisturized is the key to keeping your hair from frying.
enzi milano is excellent!
and they use only 160 degree heat so that is good too
Haha! No such thing exist. Anytime you put heat on your hair your damaging it. Ceramic flat irons, curling irons, hair dryers it all equals damage.

My flat iron is baby bliss, u have 2 buy it at the salon n i think they have curling irons buy that brand too. but u should put something in your hair to protect your hair from being fried before u iron it anyway.
haven't you americans heard of ghd's?!?!?! wow! well, in england everyone has a pair! and they are totally fantatic! i have such thick frizzy hair! but then one glide of the ghds then aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! perfect! they are the best things i've bought!

Ceramic flat irons, curling irons, hair dryers it all equals damage.

and you can get them almost anywhere...wal-mart, sears, and alot of the salons

How do you curl hair with ceramic straighteners?
no silly answers please we have a girly dilemmaHow do you curl hair with ceramic straighteners?
place a section of hair in between the plates as you would if you were gonna straighten your hair. then twist the straightenener round each section of hair, varying the size of each section and which way you twist your hair round i.e. clockwise or anticlockwise... hope that helps! How do you curl hair with ceramic straighteners?
its definately at an angle and dragging the striaghteners through your hair taut so you get a lovely bouncy curl.
ive seen a pro do it but at home its a different matter! tis hard!
clamp the straighteners around the hair near the top and twist them, they should slowly move down the piece of hair, but keep twisting until the very end otherwise you will get kinks, try to twist different sections clockwise and anticlockwise as it will look more natural
you cant not with a pair of straighteners
curling peoples hair wrecks hair!
but people have thier own opinions
not sure what look u going for? my hairs quite straight and i put in a few loose ringletey curls open straighners and put on section of hair at root, using free hand wind the rest of hair down plats loosely and close straightners for couple of seconds then release hair (good tip dont touch curl until hair has cooled down) oh i forgot i usually put bit hairspray oh section i want to curl first but let it dry or youre hair will sizzle!!! it helps keep the curl set.
ER!! They're called 'straighteners' for a reason!! You don't go trying to straighten your hair with curlers do you????
i think it has something to do with the angle. This way you can get a Farah Fawcet type charlies angle do. I think if you straighten then twist up it should give you that type of thing? Hope it helps, you didnt specify how much of a curl you wanted. Ignore that idiot who answerd first. Time waster!blush eyeshadow

What is the best hair spray that can last whole day til night for my hair curled by a ceramic rollers?
The statement that hairspray will not last is not necessarily true. You just need to find the right one that will work for you. Good ol' AquaNet is the absolute best and really cheap. I have been a performer for many years and every stylist I work with has used AquaNet and it lasts hours and hours even when sweating through a 2-3 hour show. You can find it at any drugstore like CVS or Rite Aid. Trust me...it works the best and is the cheapest. What is the best hair spray that can last whole day til night for my hair curled by a ceramic rollers?
yes the wax or fiber (Texturizing Taffy is a god send!) is great add some heat styler before you start like Kenra, and some Kenra 25 hold to finish, dont forget to spray not just ontop of your style but in side and underneath as well for the support! What is the best hair spray that can last whole day til night for my hair curled by a ceramic rollers?
Threseme, I guess that is how you spell it. maybe you know what i mean!!!
Kenra! It comes in a silver LONG bottle. It has matching gels, hairsprays, glass, taffys, and lots more! Smells great and has a very strong hold but doesn't have that crunchy feeling! its like $5.00 at any hairdressers! The professionals use it! Hope this works for you!
use professional hair wax. hair spray are too mild and too dilute, unless you wnt to keep on spraying every hour?

Can you curl hair without using an iron/ceramic curler?
I have been trying to curl my hair with iron/ceramic curlers the curls dont come out the way I want them and I guess the heat is getting to my head because I loose hair. Is there a better way?Can you curl hair without using an iron/ceramic curler?
curlersCan you curl hair without using an iron/ceramic curler?
If you want curls all the time get a perm. If just sometimes get curuso hair curlers - those work great and to keep the curls in all day get Aussie scrunch dpray or a finishing spray. Good luck!
You can curl hair without a Ceramic Curler.Ceramic curlers have the tendency to make hair fall out because of the tempeature of heat that is being produced.Use another one because Ceramic Curlers do that.Thats why I dont use those curlers when I do peoples hair.
U can try hot rollers, or regular rollers. Hot rollers you would use on dry hair %26amp; regular rollers u would roll into wet hair with a little product. either moose or a light hold gel. you can also spray them with a light hold hairspray once they are set to where you want them. Hot rollers are easier then regular ones %26amp; using either a small flat iron or regular curling iron to curl ur hair is alot easier bcuz u have more control over where the curl goes %26amp; how it looks.
the curlers you put in over night. OR hot rollers
Wet hair and put mouse on it and roll into lil curls on head. leave to dry and take out curls. That's what my mate does anyway.
curlers that you wear to bed
you can try velvet rollers. I have some remington velvet rollers and they seem to do the job reall ywell if you use them the right way and they dont ruin or wreck your hair

Do you use a ceramic straighter to press and curl your hair?
Hey, my hair is naturally kinky(tightly-curled) a I wanted to straighten my hair. Does anybody use a ceramic straighter for their press and curl. Which one do you use?Do you use a ceramic straighter to press and curl your hair?
GHD's are the best, heat up in no time and can doo anything. If you want to straighten and curl get the new GHD styler coz it's designed to do both.Do you use a ceramic straighter to press and curl your hair?
I use a ceramic straghtner, but I only use it to straighten. It's a thick one so I can't curl it. I use Conair. It works pretty well. And it has a dial so you can set it on how hot you want it to be. (ex: 5/10/20/25/30)
GL~isa :(I)
No dear, we don't curl our hair with an ordinary ceramic straighter--we use a hot iron for that or a top of the line multipurpose one. But we can, however, use a normal cheap one to straighten our hair--it's efficient and less damaging.
Ceramic straighteners work great. Also I've used a glass straightener, which is suppose to be the best kind. I naturally have straight hair but I make them super sleek.
You can get CONAIR products.

Will a curling iron with a 24 karat gold plated barrel ruin my hair? Should I go for the ceramic ones instead?
?Will a curling iron with a 24 karat gold plated barrel ruin my hair? Should I go for the ceramic ones instead?
Heat will damage hair regardless, however if you protect your hair when heat styling, the damage will be minimal. So, I believe what you are really asking is which will harm your hair the least.
The 24 karat barrel is better than the ceramic in the sense that it will maintain a constant temperature while curling. Gold barrel irons also do not chip or flake and hair is less likely to stick to the barrel when styling which minimizes the chances of hair being broken off. They are also easier to clean than ceramic.
In my experience, gold barrel irons also last longer than ceramic irons.
Ultimately it is up to you, but a gold iron will minimize breakage. Black women often experience hair breakage due to heat styling and hair dryness. Black salons usually use gold barrel irons because of the even heat distribution and minimization of hair breakage. Will a curling iron with a 24 karat gold plated barrel ruin my hair? ooo sounds expensive :O wow..... pure gold... hmm ceramic..... hmmm gold... ceramic.... gold..... ceramic.... well... sounds good but dont waste your money and just get ceramic with turbo and a little level thing that goes up to 25.
Works well =]
ANYTHING that uses heat will damage your hair!!!
I think you should go for the ceramic one. Do you have the full ceramic one? cause if u do, its definetely safer than the curling iron u are tlking about.blush eyeshadow

its possible i take my portion of my hair that im going to straighten and instead of gliding it down. hold that part straight up to the ceiling and when youre going up with the iron twist it a little as if you were using a curling iron, it gives you amazing volume and great curls. hope this helps.
absolutely.. idk about a conair but i can curl my hair with my chi by putting the ends of my hair in between the plates and then just wrapping the hair around the straightner.. the same motion as if u were using a curling iron

My hair is out of control! I use a ceramic flat iron to keep it from curling?
%26amp; a blow dryer with a round brush to keep it from getting frizzy, but it ALWAYS seems to go right back to the way it was even before I washed it! Wavy, frizzy, poofy, out of control! I've tried all kinds of straightening shampoos %26amp; conditioners...%26amp; NOTHING! not to mention my hair is short, so that makes it look even worse! Help!My hair is out of control! I use a ceramic flat iron to keep it from curling?
Hi, I actually read this really good article about it, you'll find more useful information there I'm sure:
http://www.carefair.com/Hair-and-Nails/HMy hair is out of control! I use a ceramic flat iron to keep it from curling?
I have the SAME problem as you, but don't fret here's some ideas.
You can pop in to your local stylist and ask a question, or just come in for a hair cut and ask for tips. One look that I think looks great is if you blow dry your hair (never straighten it, it is really bad for your hair) and then using a two inch curling iron (or a smaller one for tighter curls) make ringlets. Then rub your fingers through your hair and you get loose waves. It takes about half an hour to do and looks great, keeping your hair looking curly, but not frizzy and yuck.
Here are some great shampoos to use if you want to keep your curly hair frizz-free and shining. have really curly hair and really like sunsilk brand, especially the green line. I use all 3 of the green line products, and once a week I use the pink mouse (it comes in a little tub). It is completely non-greasy and doesn't make your hair feel greasy, but it keeps your curls non frizzy. If your hair is more wavy then curly, I'd use the blue line, but the same thing with the pink tub. These products are available at almost all drug stores. CVS, most major Markets, etc. Easy to buy, and about 5 dollars per bottle. If you need to get rid of frizz, I'd recommend it.
Also, don't cut your hair shorter, let it grow longer. The extra weight of your hair will weight it down. I've gone down that route and it just makes it poofy. However, most importantly, make sure you embrace your curly hair. There aren't enough of us out there!
what does everyone have against curls and poof?
Heat can make all that worse. Sounds like damage to me.
Lay off the heat and just condition condition condition and considering in investing in a permanant straightening process at ur salon.
for frizziness try using a serum to put in your hair before straightening it. from all the heat and styling, sounds like your just frying your hair. a good serum is paul mitchells super skinny serum. it makes your hair really shiny and straight and it smells good too :)
yeah i know what you mean i had that problem but i started use different kind of shampoo.....or cut your hair.....i learned that sometimes when it just starts frizzing all a sadden is because slip ends.....i know it suck es and is embarrassing
I have the same issue... if you are in an area with high humidity, you may as well just give up. Or deal with the frizziness, etc. for 1 day and then on the days to follow it will stay straight until you wash it again. I don't know how thick your hair is, but mine is very thick so only wash it every 5 days (I am white).. And let me tell you it gets nicer and flatter and straighter each dirty day that goes by!
Anyway, I had this same problem and it really is all about the products you use. For shampoo and conditioner it doesn't really matter, just make sure you are getting one that deeply conditions your hair because it gets really damaged straightening it.
Then on towel dried hair, you use a blow serum. I love the KIWI line by Loreal. It runs about $10-$15 a product, but it is way worth it!! After it is blown dry, use a serum on your hair like Redken Heat Glide. Then after running the flat iron through it (and you should have a nice one like a Chi..it's expensive for a reason! cause it works!! if you don't want to spend the $150 at the store, buy one off ebay--i got mine there for $60), put a finishing serum in it. I use blow silk by KIWI, but you could use the Biolage Thermasilk or whatever. I am sure this will work for you cause it does for me! Good luck!
why don't u buy a hair protection from iron
u could buy it from anywhere and its not even that expensive.

u could buy it from anywhere and its not even that expensive.
What is the name of the ceramic hair straightener that also curls?
I heard those don't work very well. You can curl slightly with a flat iron. Otherwise I'd use a regular curling iron if you want major curls. What is the name of the ceramic hair straightener that also curls?
Instyler?!What is the name of the ceramic hair straightener that also curls?
Any hair straightener can curl your hair if you know how to do it. The one you are thinking of might be the GHD. They are $300. I bought mine from Big W for $40, it heats up to 250 degrees, I've had it for 2 years, and it curls my hair.

Can a ceramic curling iron or flat iron burn your hair?
i would really like to know because i'm thinking about buying curling/flat ironCan a ceramic curling iron or flat iron burn your hair?
I flat iron my hair all the time and it doesn't burn my hair. Curling irons don't burn your hair either. If you keep the flat iron or curler on a piece of hair too long, it can burn though. There are some special hair products that are especially made for heat styling and can prevent burning. Can a ceramic curling iron or flat iron burn your hair?
as for curling it think twice about a curling iron, I'd use a flat iron just because its better for you hair, its quicker and easier.
Try this tutorial out so you can see what I''m talking about:

Its for curling ur hair with the flat iron.
Heat damages %26amp; takes a toll on your hair eventually. Look for a thermal protector to spray on your hair
if you use it too much then it will ; be sure to spray heat protecter on your hair before straightening it.

BaByliss 2082U Pro 230 Straight & Curl Ceramic Hair Straighteners, i have a few questions on it?
im looking for a new hair straightener i came across this one in boots and i have a few questions on it.
1:When you have it on for a while does the heat turn down itself while using it?
2: do theylast long?
3: are they good quality?
4; do they straighten well?BaByliss 2082U Pro 230 Straight %26amp; Curl Ceramic Hair Straighteners, i have a few questions on it?
I found the heat doesn't turn down (takes me ages to straighten my hair, so that's good in my opinion) when in use. I've had mine for about half a year, and so far they're much better than any I've used before. Others wouldn't straighten my hair, whereas these do and they don't drag.
Only problem I have is that I sometimes accidentally press the button and turn them off when using them.BaByliss 2082U Pro 230 Straight %26amp; Curl Ceramic Hair Straighteners, i have a few questions on it?
i have used my friends when i stayed over and i think they straighten alot better than they curl hair.
babyliss tend to be a decent brand. i have the crimpers and a curling tong and the heat stays hot all the time.
how long they last, well it will depend on how often you will use them and how you look after them ect...blush eyeshadow

Is a gold or ceramic curling iron better for hair?
i have medium thickness naturally curly hair. i am try to make my curls bigger, and i don't want to damage my hair too badly. i have tryed about everything to make them stretch out, from curlers (not the hot kind) to about every hair product available. help!!Is a gold or ceramic curling iron better for hair?
I'm not so sure about gold... but I kno ceramic plates are said to be better for your hair becuase the react to heat better [get hot quickly %26amp; cools down faster] and because it deals with heat better it is not prone to damage our hair as badly.
For your curls why don't you use the sponge curlers... you know the long cylindrical ones made of cloth%26amp;sponge
or
Use a Frizz-Ease serum and a curling lotion. My friend uses Sedal but I'm not so sure it's available where you are. So use the curl activator and just take pieces of your hair the size you want and twirl them in your fingers to form the curl.
My other friend also wets her hair... put in a curling lotion and then takes pieces and twirls in then twists it into a tiny bun and pins it. Then she gets ready and in the meantime the hair is drying. You can speed it up by drying it in place on low heat%26amp;speedIs a gold or ceramic curling iron better for hair?
ceramic all the way
The ceramic curling iron is much better..
ceramic my mums a beautician and she wont touch gold ones also you need to make sure you are using the right sort of shampoo and conditioner
Ceramics is better and just apply a heat protector product before you curl your hair often it acts like a shine serum, give you shine and protects your hair.
Ceramic is best because it heats evenly. No cold spots or hot spots means a more even curl pattern.
Use ONLY ceramic curling irons/flat irons. Only use solid ceramic NOT ceramic plated. Most are ceramic plated but some are thicker than others, the thicker the better. Also you need to prime your hair before using any type of ';hot'; hair instrument. Try Sebastian Hot Tools Protecting Spray. Just give a little spritz to all hair subjected to the heat and Voila! Less damage!

I had this hair yesterday!!!!;)))
When you curl it try to curl it with your fingers it's like using and invisible hot roller add two barbie pins on each side.
Do it like this curl or blow dry twist right away... after your head is done do your make up get dress whatever u wanna do. I leave it on for about 15 or 20 minutes. For faster results used hairspray then let them lose shake your head when head is upside down!!!! 3 to 4 shakes!!!
then fix the front how ever you like!!!!
Get a Chi Ceramic Curling Iron.
And to help your hair be silky smooth and to keep your hair from being burned by the heat, buy the Chi Silk Infusion for Ceramic (It will say Ceramic, Ionic and Far Infrared)
Yes it's true. I would recomend the CHI. I've had curls stay perfect in my hair for over 7 hours, make sure you use hair spray too.
this looks like pin curls eh a ghd is best well any thing with ceramic plates start from the root and twiste the hair towards the head till u get to the end then wind back up the hair then un ravel or wrap the hair around one of ur fingers put a pin in it to hold it wraped put the iron on it leave go to the next section when finished the whole head take pins out ant there u have it the bigger the sections the bigger the curls let me know if that was any help

Babyliss and PBM are v. good ceramic curlers and GHD stylers can be used to create curls =]
Using hairspray and higher temperatures for longer will help
x
Well if your hair falls really easily, I suggest you use GHD's. They are pricey but I have had mine for around 3 years now and they've been brilliant.
Curling your hair with straighteners can be tricky but once you've got the hang of it, it's fairly simple. The trick is to start from the top and work your way down. Basically, put a clump of hair through your straighteners and go down the hair twisting your straighteners - this will give you a really lovely finish.
If you want a more 'toned down' look, sleep on your curled hair and the next morning, it'll look just as good, only less curly. :]
Hope that helped! %26lt;3

Chi irons are awesome! They are a little pricey, but they last and work wonderful. However, they are only sold in salons and they run about $100 +. But if your looking for a good iron, Chi is the one.

What is the best ceramic curling iron for thick hair?
I have thick wavy hair and most straighteners or curling irons I have used are really damaging and leave my ends completely frayed. I want a curler with a large barrel to get long, controlled waves. Any suggestions? What is the best ceramic curling iron for thick hair?

Does curling your hair with a Ceramic curling iron damage it?
Never used a curling iron.Do not blow dry my hair after a shower. My hair is not that thick.Does curling your hair with a Ceramic curling iron damage it?
yes it still damages your hair
but not nearly as bad as non-ceramic
just use a heat protectant spray before you curl it to help protect your hairDoes curling your hair with a Ceramic curling iron damage it?
definitely because anything with heat really dries up your hair.
It can. Is it a good curling iron, or a cheap drug store brand?
You should use a heat protection spray just to be safe though. (:

What is the difference between a chi straightener and a Pro SSP Digital Ceramic Hair Flat Iron?
Not much, just brand name. Both are ceramic so they will get to very high heat temperatures which will make the hair smoother, shinier and straighter. I know many of my clients like the chi straightener. My favorite is the T3.

What the best ceramic flat iron for curly hair ?
Hi, i have super curly hair. My hair is very fizzy, its dry, and very very curly. I use Conair Ceramic Flat iron, but it doesnt help. I usually straight it at night, and in morning my hair get all wavy and curly again due to which i have to straight everyday. Does anyone knows which is the best ceramic flat iron for curly hair? I dont use any kind of product or anything before or hair i am done straightening, should i be using one ? What the best ceramic flat iron for curly hair ?
As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons/hair straighteners, including Sedu, Hai, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss Ghd, T3, Kenta etc. You should get a Professional hair straightener, they style much better and faster, and most importantly, they protect your hair.
In terms of performance:
The best ones are: Sedu, Kenta, Solia, Infrashine, Ghd. These are top of the line professional brands
Above average: Chi, Hai, Paul Mitchell,
Average: T3, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss
Below Average: Conair, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon, Bed Head etc. These are cheap consumer brands that you will find in drugstore. If you care about your hair, do NOT buy them.
=== Flat Iron Hair Straighteners FAQ ======
Q: What size should I choose?
A: For most people, 1';, 1-1/4'; or 1.5'; are all good choices. If you have very thick, coarse, long or ethic hair, bigger size (1.5'; or 2';) will save you some time. If you have thin, fine hair, get a smaller one (1'; or 3/4';).
Q: What temperature should I should on my hair?
A: Based on my expereince, 380F is the average temperature to use. If you hair is thick and coarse, bump it up a bit, if you hair is fine or overprocessed, start it at somewhere 300F, and try it. If the setting does not work well for you, increase a bit until you get a setting that works well for you but does not burn your hair. Trial and error.

What the best ceramic flat iron for curly hair ?
Ok i have super curly hair and here is my advice.
CHI works really good, you can get one on ebay for $60, a little more in stores. Another iron I have found to work really good is a T3 Tourmaline wet/dry iron. I kinda like this better than chi because it makes my hair super silky and straight. It really feels silky. But its a little more expensive if you cant buy from ebay. On ebay you can get it for around 60$, but in stores its around $200+/
You need protectants when flat ironing. Of course conair doesnt work on curly hair, they are the worst possible iron you can get!
So you need a heat protector and serum. I recommend Redken Smooth Down, but if you need something cheaper try tresseme. Good luck!
You need a better flat iron for one thing. I also have curly hair and use a hot tools flat iron, they aren't expensive if you look online for them. Also, don't straighten your hair right before you go to bed. It's for sure going to be messed up when you get up in the morning unless you use lots of product like styling spray or a smoothing cream. I recommend washing your hair before you go to bed, when you wake up, you will have some natural oils on your hair at will help protect it from the heat. It should straighten pretty well in the morning, and hold all day without product. if you want better hold around your face, use hairspray.
Hello Shaney, I'm a stylist and I have super tight curls! First, conair is not a brand for us. What you need is a ceramic or tourmaline straightener and blow dryer. You don't have to get the blow dryer but it does help. Use a shine serum or heat protecting mist before you straighten to decrease the frizz. At work I have a Ceramic Pro flat iron. At home I have a $15 Andis ceramic flat iron from Wal Mart and it works just the same. That thing is super awesome- just don't turn the heat all the way up. When you first buy a new flat iron, use it at the lowest temperature and then go up until you find the right one for you. I hope this helps and feel free to ask me more!
Hey
Invest in GHDs - they ARE the best on the market - I would not go to a salon which did not use them either. After you dry your hair, section it and spray with Wella flat iron spray then run irons through. Whatever you use to finish it isn't so important.
For these things it is better to pay more for a good product than buying 5 things that do not work.
Oh and use Fudge Dynamite reconstructor before your conditioner - it is amazing!!!!
Hope I help!
hey,
i too, have curly, frizzy, dry hair. and when i first started out straightening out my hair, i went from conair, revlon, vidal sasoon, all the brands found at the local wal mart. and then i got my hair done at a salon, where they used the Chi straitner. its over a hundred bucks, and didn't really like it. but i use this one, called Tourmaline Series by Jilber en Paris. My roomate gave me her old one, and its the best one yet. it cost about 60 dollars but well worth it.
and as for the products before and after, definately.
Like, if im gonna straiten out my hair the next day, i'll shampoo, deep condition, comb my hair( because regualr bristle brushes damages the ends so use combs when hair is wet) and try to put a hot iron protectant. I use Chi Silk infusion, Paul Mitchell Super Skinny serum which smells really good. And, i can usually leave it strait for about 3 or 4 days before it starts getting greasy from the products. but i use to have the same problem, waking up to wavy hair after i just spent an hour the night before straitening it.
i hope this helps
Oh! and always deep condition when u decide to wet ur hair, it'll help!
Conair is a CHEAP brand. a Revlon is okay but try CHI. It's really good but expensive. Or try a Remington flat iron. Works relatively well and at a pretty good price. Like $60?
And I also suggest getting this heat protective spray for your hair. It's really good. Get like a CHI one or a Tresseme one. And use leave in conditioner after you shower so it won't be so dry. Mostly put some on the ends. Hope I helped!
try folica.com
http://www.folica.com/Ceramic_Fl_214_1.h
im getting this one
it cermatic and tourbline:
http://www.folica.com/Solia_Tourmalin_d1
a Chi Iron.
Also super skinny serum from Garnier is great, or Salerm silk protein.
babyliss pro ceramic flat iron..its a little pricey but its well worth it...i can straighten my hair in like 20 min max. and mine is very long, thick, and wavy.
DUDE I HAVE THEEE SAME PROBLEM
yeah, i recommend a heat- resistant...stuff
spray, cream, whatever it comes in
protects cuticles from heat and leaves your hair ina better shape
cortex
-RRZ
THE BEST is chi, 2nd is hia
i would suggest GHDs but they can cost a bit, but are well worth it in the long run

How to properly clean a ceramic plated flat iron/hair straitening tool?
I have a fairly new flat iron (1.5 width) that has the gold plated ceramic hot pieces (for total lack of a better phrased description). Apparently I should have wiped it down after every use but I didn't so the plates are dirty and are not working as best they could. How can I clean the plates properly and effectively? I've tried rubbing alcohol and plain soap and water. none seem to work. i wanna clean it properly ASAP to avoid further build up and total product replacement. Hairdressers use these things all the time ...anyone know? No cleaning instructions were provided w/the product. How to properly clean a ceramic plated flat iron/hair straitening tool?
they make flatiron cleaning solutions. you should look for it at places like Ulta. How to properly clean a ceramic plated flat iron/hair straitening tool?

Wipe it with a cotton ball dipped in alcohol. And I don't mean liquor.

What is the best ceramic flat iron for hair?
I want to get a really good flat iron, cost isn't really an issue. Can anyone recommend a good one for me? I've heard CHI is good, but I want to know if there is anything better out there. What is the best ceramic flat iron for hair?
I HAVE A CHI AND HAVE HAD IT FOR MORE THAN 6 YEARS.AND IT WORKS GREAT!!!What is the best ceramic flat iron for hair?
Like everyone said... the chi. I have the bulkiest frizziest thickest hair you can imagine! My friend used it on my hair and it has never been that straight. I couldn't believe it. I saw some online for like 20 bucks once... I doubt they are that cheap though
Yeah, Chi is probably the best, if you're not worried about price. But it also depends on your hair type. If you have a lot of hair, you might want to consider going with a larger iron, such as a 1 and 1/2in or a whole 2in iron. You might want to search amazon to look around, or a store like ';Sally's beauty supplies';. But overall a Chi would probably be the best idea.
use the chi! (#1 best selling ceramic flat iron in america)
it's a CHI. They aren't realy expensice. Just $150 I think
I honestly dont know the con-air left my cousin's hair so soft and straight
i have a conair- wet to straight it works wonders.
but dont straighten wet hair.

If you have been subjecting your hair to harsh treatments, you probably have to rethink whether you should continue them. Such harsh treatments do make you look good instantly but do excessive damage to the hair-strand as well as the root. It sucks the necessary moisture in the hair and hair-root making them rough, dull, coarse, frizzy, brittle. In the subsequent stage it leads to split-ends and hairloss.
Your problem won't get solved with treatments with ordinary products. You must immediately, without delay go for professional treatment, only with organic / natural stuff, that is ph balanced and mild and gentle. Delaying this may cost you dearly. In any case, you need to nourish your hair with positive stuff after all the harshness with chemicals. Simple logic - think coolly.....
Suggest you one of the most dedicated product ranges that would help your case - the Segals Solutions Program, now available in India. It has the finest herbal extracts from around the world and nourishing moisturizers, hair-vitamins, minerals and rejuvenators which you won't get in any other products in India. Just study what's inside it. It's incredible. Ask for their Damaged / Dry Hair Program that would perhaps suit you most or you may speak and discuss with them - maybe you have to go for their Hairloss Program. They will advise you some special formulations, applications, hair-supplements etc etc. It generates a lot of rejuvenating action in the hair-root itself, solving your problem, without any harsh chemicals. You get results pretty fast and the results are not just temporary. They are long-lasting and comprehensive as they come from the roots. Your hair becomes full of life, has good volume, bounce and texture and healthy and stronger from the root. Segals Solutions provides you with all the +ve matter that your hair need so desperately after the treatment process. Food for hair - it's a must ! !
You may also ask for some special formulation for treated hair, in case you need to go for straightening again. They have the widest range - different products and programs for different hair and scalp problems.

Does a Remington Wet2Straight ceramic straightner damage your hair more then a dry straightner?
Ceramic straighteners don't harm your hair.Does a Remington Wet2Straight ceramic straightner damage your hair more then a dry straightner?
I have wet2straight %26amp; I find dry straighteners damage your hair more!! This is because wet2straight lock in moisture!!! Some people say they're just as bad or worse but I dont agree.
But actually its more the hairdryer that damages your hair, it drys it out a lot %26amp; can burn your scalp just as much as straighteners!!!
HTH xxDoes a Remington Wet2Straight ceramic straightner damage your hair more then a dry straightner?
No, it is better. If there is water involved then the hair is more protected and is less likley to get singed. But if you use a dry straightener, coat your hair with some type of grease first, this lessens the chance of burning and breaking.
wet2straight are ment to better if you dry your hair first - defeats the purpose a bit but heard it from a personal user
I would say it is very damaging and is no different to using ordinary straighteners are wet hair. Straightening wet hair with straighteners or tongs increases your chances of breakage.
I think someone has said that ceramics are not damaging to your hair but all heated appliances can cause damage to your hair. That's why it is important to always use heat protective products alongside using heated appliances.
I would say it's best to buy a really good ceramic straightener, eg GHD, and always use heat protective products when using any heated appliance in order to minmise damage. Also, try not to use your straighteners everyday, it's good to give the hair a break.
The official GHD site is www.ghdhair.com.
Best to stay away from Remington. I'v bought one recently and within 2 months discovered it wasn't actually ceramic. The coating had worn away to reveal steel which really causes alot of damage. Best to go with GHD or read couple of reviews. I heard T3 straighteners are good.
Absolutely not! I've been using that iron for a year now, and it not only does not harm my hair, but it gives it the best straightening I've ever had. It doesn't damage, my hair feels very soft and smooth. It takes alittle work, but it straightens very well and it lasts a long time. The hair also has a very shiny, silky look. Also, not having to blow dry saves time, and you can still use it on dry hair with great results. However if your hair is very curly, or difficult to straighten, try the maxi glide. It has pins on the iron like a brush that pull the hair straight much easier and quicker. Personally I like the results of the remington better, but I use both of them at different times depending on how I want my hair to look.
they are actually really bad for your hair any think hot can damage hair the best straighteners to use are ghd definitely
as long as u use a good thermal protector first it shouldnt make much difference
less actually.

My chi ceramic hair straightner stopped working for no reason!?
So I didn't touch my hair straightner and went to turn it on like usual the next day and it quit working. I tried plugging it in at a different outlet and pressing the red reset button and neither worked. I noticed many of you have asked the same question about what to do... I called the company Farouk Systems (who make the product) and they said it doesn't matter how long ago you purchased the product, they will fix it. If you have your reciept it is free, if you don't (like me) it will be $35. It takes 7-10 business days (fairly speedy), send your broken Chi Straightner to Farouk Systems 25010 Pennbright Dr Houston, TX 77090 Inside the box that you are sending include a statement (such as, My Chi hairstraightner sudddenly quit working or whatever the reason for the product to malfunction) and a return address and phone number. I hope this helps many of you who spent a large amount of money and were disappointed when the product broke! My chi ceramic hair straightner stopped working for no reason!?

Ceramic Hair Straightner?
Ok so i here that hair straighteners make ur hair frizzy is that true or just a load of bull? Any who i just got a ceramic hair straightener and was wondering if that gives me less of a chance to get more frizzy hair................THANK YOUCeramic Hair Straightner?
use products to protect your hair from the heat and you shouldn't have many problems.
don't do it every day. every other to every 3rd day is plenty.Ceramic Hair Straightner?
After a few uses it will damage your hair. Unless you are very careful. Don't spend more than 10 minutes on your hair, use heat protect shampoo, conditioner, spray, serum, the lot.
I use my GHDs almost every day and my hair is in brilliant condition. Because I use the GHD shampoo and conditioner and use Aussie 3 minute miracle long hair treatment once a week. Then I use the Andrew Collinge Straightening serum and Andrew Collinge heat defence spray on my hair before blowdrying it, and also use the heat defence spray on it every day before I straighten it.It's neccessary though, I have a friend who used straighteners every day without protecting her hair and she ruined it that much that she had to get it all chopped off, really really short, and it looked horrible.
Its the split ends off using straighteners that make it frizzy.yes ceramic are better for your hair and give it a smoother look.I recommend GHDs they are expensive at about 120 pound but they are so worth it the best pair I have ever had Ive had mine 3 year and they are still good as new.Just remember to always use a heat defense and not to straighten it too much.
Straighteners are cool and yeah they can make your hair frizzy...if you fry it! Think of an iron for clothes laying on a shirt and not moving it. What happens...yep it burns. Use a good serum so that you burn the serum off and not your hair. Get your hair trimmed regularly, and if you can, do deep conditioning at least once a week. Hope that solves the mystery:)
They're generally better but make sure you use heat protection spray.
You could use a frizz-easing shampoo and conditioner and heat spray that may help improve your hair.
Ceramic is the best type for your hair
you can also buy heat protectant spray for your hair
it really kinda depends on the type of hair that you actually have..
thick hair can frizz depending on the straightener..
hair thats kinda medium and really isn't that bad normally won't frizz
i got a ceramic and it doesnt make it frizz and i dont even use heat protectant spray or anything
but you might wanna just to be safe
good luck!

Ceramic is the best type for your hair
you can also buy heat protectant spray for your hair
it really kinda depends on the type of hair that you actually have..
thick hair can frizz depending on the straightener..
hair thats kinda medium and really isn't that bad normally won't frizz
i got a ceramic and it doesnt make it frizz and i dont even use heat protectant spray or anything
but you might wanna just to be safe
good luck!

PRO FHI 1'; CERAMIC IONIC IRON. I have one and love it. They're alot cheaper now then when I got mine. Right now about $40-$50 on eBay. They are hard on your hair though. Have to keep the ends trimmed up.
i prefer a velvet one
but it is quite costly
my friend has one and it works BEAUTIFULLY
and doesnt damage hair at all.
if you finda velvet one i think you should choose that one
the sedu so to folica .com
I use a Chi. It works really well, even if you do not blow dry your hair.
The only problem I have with mine is it does not have an automatic turn off.
CHI it last me like 4 days and my hair is REALLY CURLY u wouldnt beleive it
Philips ceramic iron is great
I use a conair straightener - it was $25 at Target, and it's the only ceramic iron I've owned in 2 years, it's wonderful! I only have to run it over each section I want straightened once (and the easy dial on the side lets you control how hot you want it).
Good for you for putting down the blow dryer, a ceramic iron works so much better!printer cartridge

Does a ceramic straightner damage your hair?
i got a ceramic straightner from conair and i wanted to know if it damages your hair.Does a ceramic straightner damage your hair?
As long as you use it while your hair is dry, it shouldn't damage your hair. I bought the same kind. Mine was wet or dry though. I found out the hard way not to use it while wet. I had to have it all cut off to actually be normal again. When I use my straightener, I smooth in a little biosilk while it is wet, either blow dry or wait on it to dry, and use it on the lowest setting that works on my hair. Since I've started this, I haven't had any problems with it breaking my hair.Does a ceramic straightner damage your hair?
It might get a little damage from heat
All straightners damage your hair but ceramic irons are the best to use. Still dont use your straightner too much.
well yeah all straighteners do but they last the longest
any kind of heat styling damages your hair.
all flat irons damage your hair!!!! ceramic or not!!!!!! you can reduce the damage by purchasing a thermal spray!!!!
Yes it does.
Beauty is pain.
Duh!
ALL heat tools damage hair little by little.
that includes.
crimpers.
straighteners.
curlers.
blow dryers %26amp; ummm anything that uses heat.

How is a ceramic straightner better for your hair than a non-ceramic straightner?
my moms friend said that a ceramic straightner is better for your hair.
is it true? How is a ceramic straightner better for your hair than a non-ceramic straightner?
I personally think it is better. It doesn't burn my hair and it glides through my hair very smoothly. You can also curl with it. I would not doubt that it is better.

I have a hot tools ceramic hair straightner but...........??
I have had it for a year and a half is it still good?? The ends of my hair are pretty burnt and I do use a heat protectant once in a while. it will only make my hair straight if I have it on a high setting like seven (the setting only goes from 1 to 10). any suggestions so my hair won't get as damaged?? and will stay straight?? I have frizzy hair with a little but of curl in some spots. what should I do??I have a hot tools ceramic hair straightner but...........??
I use a straightener every day...but you have to make sure to use one that doesnt ruin your hair. You said that your hair is burnt at the bottom; get a new straightener and get Pantene Pro-V protection spray ($9 at drug stores.) Also if you take my advise and get a new straightener, get the CHI straightener (the one inch works best!)...even though it is expensive ($140USD), it works for about 3 years. Also it doesnt ruin your hair! It makes your hair shiny and B-E-A-U-tiful! Also get new shampoo and conditioner...Pantene Pro-V and Herbal Essence are your best bet! If you want more volume, get the volume kind or Pantene Pro-V or the new Herbal Essence...If you want to get rid of frizz, (i use this) get the Herbal Essence called ';none of your frizziness';. Also for frizz control i use Frizz-ease...THIS REALLY WORKS!!I have a hot tools ceramic hair straightner but...........??
Straiten your hair every 4 hours!!!
I would suggest throwing out your Hot Tools flat iron, getting your ends trimmed, doing a deep conditioning treatment and if you must straighten your hair, splurge on a higher-end flat iron like a Chi. The better the product, the less likely it is to burn your hair.
If it's burning the ends of your hair don't use it anymore, it's damaging it and you can't repair that without cutting it!
I use a Vidal Sasoon straightener that was very inexpensive and works Great. You can get them at any major store. Anyway I used the same one for over a year and it still worked the same. It has a very high setting but I have never burned my hair before. I would suggest using that straightener (it's black on the outside and has wide gold hotplates) the ceramic ones are supposed to be better for your hair but in my experience they aren't at all and they don't work as good. It could be that you have had it for a long time but my straightener hasn't worn out like that. Also I would talk to your local beauty parlor (even a great clips) and ask them about heat protector and getting regular hair trims to help with damaged or split ends. Surprisingly the more often you trim your hair the faster it grows and you can use certain daily products like Thermasilk that is heat activated and/or Garnie Fructice long and strong to help with damage. I like using Garnie but your hair gets sort of immune to any shampoo and conditioner. I got a bottle of shampoo from my local great clips for like $12 and I use it once a week (it lasts forever) it cleans out everything from your hair including your shampoo's effects and then when you use your shampoo and conditioner it feels like you're using it for the first time. This is a pretty lengthy answer. Main Point: switch to the vidal sasoon straightener and keep using products that protect your hair.
don't Iron your hair while its wet for one thing. use a heat protector every time. My hair is really thick and I have to make sure I'm doing little sections at once. condition often. and use a defrizzer like frizzease. You could also use a round brush and hair dryer like they do in the salon but that takes a while
You need a really good deep-conditioner. Also, your straightener won't ';go bad';, my straightener gets to 500degrees, so I'm sure yours is fine. Make sure you're using a good thermal heat protectant (I use CHI and it smells awesome!). Also, make sure you're not leaving the straightener on the ends very long. Straighten most of the hair shaft and lightly cover the ends of the hair to straighten, but don't mess with them too much. It'd be best if you cut the super-dry ends that may very well be damaged. If they're damaged they're going to wreck the rest of your hair, so cut them off and you'll immediately notice a huge difference, even if you want your hair to be long. Your hair will look better without the bad ends and will grow better without the dead ends breaking up the rest of your hair. Good Luck!
P.S.- If you don't think your straightener is good for your hair, get a new one. I personally use a CHI iron, which retails for around $100, which is steep, but it's got a 1yr. guarantee and it's phenomenal, especially since I use it daily on myself and my clients. (I'm a hair stylist) Good Luck!

Is straightening your hair with a ceramic straightner good?
most of the time i straighten my hair and i have burnt bits at the end
i think im ruining it, sometimes i leave my hair natural (soft curls) but i dont like it as it is frizzy and poofs up a bit.
will i stop getting burnt bits if i straighten with a ceramic straightner??
thankyou!!!Is straightening your hair with a ceramic straightner good?
No heat appliance is good for your hair. Some are better than others but hair is very delicate and is not designed to withstand the crazy temps of hair dryers, curlers and such. Ceramic straighteners are better than say a $20.00 one from walmart but all heat will slowly but surely damage your hair. I have an expensive CHI and I can say its an awesome tool for straightening and curling but it doesn't help my hair to get any healthier whatsoever. I bought it in hopes that it would but learned the sad truth. Just the way beauty works unfortunately. Is straightening your hair with a ceramic straightner good?
Ceramic straighteners have a more even heat to reduce burning and glide down the hair, reducing drag. Make sure your hair is completely dry. Put a protectorant on it like Redken iron silk 07. That's important. Condition daily and use a reconstructing shampoo and condtioner, Redken extreme line is good. Cut off the dead ends, they're not coming back, and the breakage travels up the hair quickly.
The new straightener should have a heat control that you can keep below 200 degrees F ... you don't want to flash boil the moisture out of your hair.
Ceramic Straighteners will obviously protect your hair more but you also need to use some sort of heat defense product to stop the burnt bits at the ends. Plus make sure you don't have the temperature turned up too high on your Straighteners.

A lot of ppl. may say the CHI but I have the CHI and my sister's Protouch flat iron is wayy better! You may have never head of it but it is 29.99-39.99 dollars original price (my sister got it for sale for 20 bucks) and sold at JcPenney salon. The chi doesn't get my hair stick straight but the Protouch does! And I don't have to grip harder on itt :) Plus there is temp. settings. I really recommend you to get the Protouch..!!! hehe I'm trying to get my sister to trade with me =)What is the best ceramic hair straightner?
The best one I know is infiniti nano sliver by CONAIR, the bad part is that it is 100.00 dollars, and over your budget, although it does not damage your hair, it is wide, it heats up fast (30 seconds, no joking technologyogy these days *shakes head*), it uses steam, catches stray hairs and more.
For under 85.00 you could buy BedHead rockstar stylist straightener, although it irons your hair so it will damage it.
Almost any hair straightener will work, but from paexperiencesnce, do not buy them from the price range on 13.00-29.00 dollars.
i have realllyyyy thick hair and i have tried a LOT of straighteners and my chi worked good but then it broke so i bought a conair infiniti and it works better than the chi in my opinion!! its $50 at walmart
there are many good straiteners!! the Chi is a good 1 and alot of ppl like it! It can be expensive if u get a good model. But if u dont want to get a chi the skinny straighteners work better than the wide 1s

Is it ok to use ceramic hair straightner twice a week or does it damage the hair?
if it does damage the hair what is the minmum time i should keep between every use??
thanks,,Is it ok to use ceramic hair straightner twice a week or does it damage the hair?
It will damage the hair no matter how infrequently you use it. There's several products on the market which claim to protect hair from the heat of hairdryers / tongs / straighteners, etc, so maybe you should invest in one of those. Is it ok to use ceramic hair straightner twice a week or does it damage the hair?
no matter how often u use it ur hair will B fried, but 2x a week shouldn't hurt it that bad as long as u use pantene pro-v hair repair shampoo and conditioner
as long as you use protective cream its fine:D
usualy i only use then on my bangs though but my hairs naturaly straight
i dont think that will damage your hair...i use a ceramic hair straightener at least twice a week if not more...it hasnt done anything to my hair...so best of luck to you with yours!!
It damages your hair no mateer what. i stopped using mine all together because it fried it so bad.
It does damage your hair but Dove recostructing shampoo helps your hair to recover.
It will damange your hair no matter what.
I use mine almost everyday, but I aslo use straightening cream from Thermasilk, and I use shampoo and conditioner for damaged hair.
Also, just let your hair air dry before you straigthen it, because that will reduce soo much damange in one day.
Well..it damges ur hair soon if ur hair is thin and if it is thick it will damage gradually..i used to use ceramic but it fries ur hair and takes up all the moisture from the hai leaving it dead..so i think u should think of other options to straighten ur hair..like i heard from my girl friend from nigeria that she had her hair straighten permanently in a prlous by applyin some cream..but its way better cuz her hair is still healthy
thanks,,Is it ok to use ceramic hair straightner twice a week or does it damage the hair?

Is the Ceramic Hair Straightner by Conair good?
Has anyone ever used the new Ceramic Hair Straightener by Conair? I've had many straighteners but they all make my hair frizzy and dry....is this one worth it?Is the Ceramic Hair Straightner by Conair good?
it depends on your hair type. most stores will let you try the straightner and if you are disatified you can return it. You could also ask your hairdresser what they recommend for your type of hair. I am sure it will work fine. Remember to buy a flat iron defrizzant which help protect your hair from slit ends. I use the one from GOT2B. hope this helps! Is the Ceramic Hair Straightner by Conair good?
i do have one from conair but i dont know the name for it thought but mine was really good and never gave me frizzy hair dryed up hair ever bought mine at duade reade
a straightner alone will make your hair fuzzy and dry no matter what kind, try using a polish or a good straightning cream. frizz ease works well.
No Conair is a cheap straightener, hence the word ';Con';. Get something at least $50+. I have a Sedu Tourmaline Straightener and it works really good, and I hear CHI's are kick @$$. But anyways, try to get something along those lines for best results.
I have a Ceramic Straightener by Conair and it is wonderful. I've bought quite a few and this one is by far my favorite. It doesn't leave my hair dry or frizzy, and it isn't that expensive.
My favorite straightner is the Chi, i have frizzy, curly/wavy hair and it straightens it makes it smooth without frizz
I do not know that is a very cruel question I am going bald. Actually i bought one for my Daughter she like it but I think you have to use some kind of straighting solution with it to keep your hair from frizzing
i have a conair and it has a turbo button which makes it get really hot, but it doesn't make your hair dry or frizzy. it makes it soft and shiny (not like oily shiny though). it is only like $15 too. i really think you should get it
Uhhh, there is quite a few that are ceramic so im not quite sure what you're talking about could you add a picture? But the one i use is quite good,it works good for most hair.
Any Conair products are crap. Use Different brands that are all little bit more expensive like the ones in salons.

(Black women preferably, but anyone can)does using a ceramic hair straightner really straighten black hair?
I currently have my hair braided. whenever i take out my braids, i don't relax my hair. because of this my hair is really curly and thick, it's not kinky though. i want to straighten it because it will be much easier to comb and wash. i'm 13 y.o. and my mom thinks that if i use a curling iron too much, i'll damage my hair. i agree. we heard that the ceramic straightener doesn't do damage to the hair. is this true? have you used it before?(Black women preferably, but anyone can)does using a ceramic hair straightner really straighten black hair?
Ceramic flat irons don't damage your hair if you use them within reason (i.e., not every day, not on wet hair, not on already damaged hair). They can straighten any hair type if you do it properly.(Black women preferably, but anyone can)does using a ceramic hair straightner really straighten black hair?
I relax my hair but a ceramic hair straightener does really straighten mine. I love my hair straightened.
you should perm your hair it helps alot.....the ceramic straightener doens't really work on my hair because I have thick hair, but when I perm it, it goes down.printer cartridge

ghd are amazing and work on most peoples hair, i own GHDS and i no longer have emergency pony tails the mediem sized ones are ideal cus the the big ones are way 2 big and the small ones are way 2 tichy.
they cost around 拢150-拢200 sort of depends on where u buy them from.
GHD of course, they retail for around 299$ AUD But if your looking for one thats a little cheaper go the silver bullet. they retail anywhere between 100 to 250 AUD yehh, i personally have a GHD its amazing its the regular size but you can get mini heads, normal or larger salon ones.
I would say the best would either be a Chi or Solia. Those were the ones I was stuck between when I was ordering mine. I ended up choosing the pink limited edition Solia :) It works great%26lt;3

CHI is the best and worth the money! My hair dresser got mine for me and sold it to me for her cost. Saved me money and I got a great straightner.

I have this one
A CHI flat iron is definitely the best way to go. It's a little more expensive but it has more durability than any other flat iron I have used. It's a worthwhile investment.
Go to a salon, the quality ones are sold there, more expensive but it's worth it.
CHI. Definitely. I cant tell you how absolutely grateful I am to this thing that works like magic!
GHD's. Its an english brand but it beats all by far.
The Wet to Dry one but you have to get
the bigger size
CHI duh

What is the best way to clean a ceramic hair straightner?
mild soap and water on a clean cloth, just wipe down the plates and dry it with a dry corner of the cloth- make sure the plate has cooled down though. What is the best way to clean a ceramic hair straightner?
DO NOT USE ALCOHOL OR RAZOR BLADES as stated above, you will STRIP the ceramic coating, thus making your iron USELESS. Just use a damp cloth when dry. What is the best way to clean a ceramic hair straightner?
why not leave your hair how mother nature created it? Instead of wastings earths resorses!!! Stop paying attention to you beauty!!! Its rediculous! Oh, to clean it, throw it OUT!!
You can use a damp cloth when they are hot and alcohol when they have cooled down.
plain rubbing alchohol and cotton balls. or plain white vinegar %26amp; cotton balls...if you use the vinegar (it works the best) just be sure to wipe w/water dampened cotton balls before using so you don't smell like a pickle!
You can use alcohol or you can use a razor blade.
Use a soft, damp cloth. No chemicals so as to prevent damaging the plates.
