Is a gold or ceramic curling iron better for hair?

i have medium thickness naturally curly hair. i am try to make my curls bigger, and i don't want to damage my hair too badly. i have tryed about everything to make them stretch out, from curlers (not the hot kind) to about every hair product available. help!!Is a gold or ceramic curling iron better for hair?
I'm not so sure about gold... but I kno ceramic plates are said to be better for your hair becuase the react to heat better [get hot quickly %26amp; cools down faster] and because it deals with heat better it is not prone to damage our hair as badly.





For your curls why don't you use the sponge curlers... you know the long cylindrical ones made of cloth%26amp;sponge

Use a Frizz-Ease serum and a curling lotion. My friend uses Sedal but I'm not so sure it's available where you are. So use the curl activator and just take pieces of your hair the size you want and twirl them in your fingers to form the curl.


My other friend also wets her hair... put in a curling lotion and then takes pieces and twirls in then twists it into a tiny bun and pins it. Then she gets ready and in the meantime the hair is drying. You can speed it up by drying it in place on low heat%26amp;speedIs a gold or ceramic curling iron better for hair?

ceramic my mums a beautician and she wont touch gold ones also you need to make sure you are using the right sort of shampoo and conditioner
Ceramics is better and just apply a heat protector product before you curl your hair often it acts like a shine serum, give you shine and protects your hair.
Ceramic is best because it heats evenly. No cold spots or hot spots means a more even curl pattern.
Use ONLY ceramic curling irons/flat irons. Only use solid ceramic NOT ceramic plated. Most are ceramic plated but some are thicker than others, the thicker the better. Also you need to prime your hair before using any type of ';hot'; hair instrument. Try Sebastian Hot Tools Protecting Spray. Just give a little spritz to all hair subjected to the heat and Voila! Less damage!
