Can you use ceramic straightener to get some curl or wave in your hair?

I do not have curly, wavy, or overly thick hair. But I want that smooth look that you get after you have your hair styled by a professional. I also want some curl. I'm thinking about buying a straightener that has rounded ends so that I can get some wave or curl like what a curling iron does. Is it possible to get some curl from a straightener? The reason I'm looking into this and not a curling iron is because along with the curl, I want that smooth look that a straightener provides.Can you use ceramic straightener to get some curl or wave in your hair?
Yes you can obtain the salon straight hair by using the chi ceramic iron. The Chi iron is awesome and worth the investment. To obtain the curl or a little body at the end, start the chi flat iron at the root and slowly pull it down the section of hair. As you get towards the end start rolling it under until you reach the end. Just let the hair glide straight through to the end. I've heard somewhere that you clamp your hair near your roots then kind of turn the flat iron so the ends of your hair are like going up like a fountain and you go down your hair it gives you curls. I've never tried it before but it's supposed to be like what happens when you curl a ribbon. They also sell two in one straightners and curlers.
Yes you can get a very soft curl with these. The trick is knowing how to use them. You have to be a little fast as not to have the heat on the hair too long.
