What the best ceramic flat iron for curly hair ?

Hi, i have super curly hair. My hair is very fizzy, its dry, and very very curly. I use Conair Ceramic Flat iron, but it doesnt help. I usually straight it at night, and in morning my hair get all wavy and curly again due to which i have to straight everyday. Does anyone knows which is the best ceramic flat iron for curly hair? I dont use any kind of product or anything before or hair i am done straightening, should i be using one ? What the best ceramic flat iron for curly hair ?
As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons/hair straighteners, including Sedu, Hai, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss Ghd, T3, Kenta etc. You should get a Professional hair straightener, they style much better and faster, and most importantly, they protect your hair.

In terms of performance:

The best ones are: Sedu, Kenta, Solia, Infrashine, Ghd. These are top of the line professional brands

Above average: Chi, Hai, Paul Mitchell,

Average: T3, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss

Below Average: Conair, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon, Bed Head etc. These are cheap consumer brands that you will find in drugstore. If you care about your hair, do NOT buy them.

=== Flat Iron Hair Straighteners FAQ ======

Q: What size should I choose?

A: For most people, 1';, 1-1/4'; or 1.5'; are all good choices. If you have very thick, coarse, long or ethic hair, bigger size (1.5'; or 2';) will save you some time. If you have thin, fine hair, get a smaller one (1'; or 3/4';).

Q: What temperature should I should on my hair?

A: Based on my expereince, 380F is the average temperature to use. If you hair is thick and coarse, bump it up a bit, if you hair is fine or overprocessed, start it at somewhere 300F, and try it. If the setting does not work well for you, increase a bit until you get a setting that works well for you but does not burn your hair. Trial and error.

What the best ceramic flat iron for curly hair ?
Ok i have super curly hair and here is my advice.

CHI works really good, you can get one on ebay for $60, a little more in stores. Another iron I have found to work really good is a T3 Tourmaline wet/dry iron. I kinda like this better than chi because it makes my hair super silky and straight. It really feels silky. But its a little more expensive if you cant buy from ebay. On ebay you can get it for around 60$, but in stores its around $200+/

You need protectants when flat ironing. Of course conair doesnt work on curly hair, they are the worst possible iron you can get!

So you need a heat protector and serum. I recommend Redken Smooth Down, but if you need something cheaper try tresseme. Good luck!
You need a better flat iron for one thing. I also have curly hair and use a hot tools flat iron, they aren't expensive if you look online for them. Also, don't straighten your hair right before you go to bed. It's for sure going to be messed up when you get up in the morning unless you use lots of product like styling spray or a smoothing cream. I recommend washing your hair before you go to bed, when you wake up, you will have some natural oils on your hair at will help protect it from the heat. It should straighten pretty well in the morning, and hold all day without product. if you want better hold around your face, use hairspray.
Hello Shaney, I'm a stylist and I have super tight curls! First, conair is not a brand for us. What you need is a ceramic or tourmaline straightener and blow dryer. You don't have to get the blow dryer but it does help. Use a shine serum or heat protecting mist before you straighten to decrease the frizz. At work I have a Ceramic Pro flat iron. At home I have a $15 Andis ceramic flat iron from Wal Mart and it works just the same. That thing is super awesome- just don't turn the heat all the way up. When you first buy a new flat iron, use it at the lowest temperature and then go up until you find the right one for you. I hope this helps and feel free to ask me more!
Hey

Invest in GHDs - they ARE the best on the market - I would not go to a salon which did not use them either. After you dry your hair, section it and spray with Wella flat iron spray then run irons through. Whatever you use to finish it isn't so important.

For these things it is better to pay more for a good product than buying 5 things that do not work.

Oh and use Fudge Dynamite reconstructor before your conditioner - it is amazing!!!!

Hope I help!
hey,

i too, have curly, frizzy, dry hair. and when i first started out straightening out my hair, i went from conair, revlon, vidal sasoon, all the brands found at the local wal mart. and then i got my hair done at a salon, where they used the Chi straitner. its over a hundred bucks, and didn't really like it. but i use this one, called Tourmaline Series by Jilber en Paris. My roomate gave me her old one, and its the best one yet. it cost about 60 dollars but well worth it.

and as for the products before and after, definately.

Like, if im gonna straiten out my hair the next day, i'll shampoo, deep condition, comb my hair( because regualr bristle brushes damages the ends so use combs when hair is wet) and try to put a hot iron protectant. I use Chi Silk infusion, Paul Mitchell Super Skinny serum which smells really good. And, i can usually leave it strait for about 3 or 4 days before it starts getting greasy from the products. but i use to have the same problem, waking up to wavy hair after i just spent an hour the night before straitening it.

i hope this helps

Oh! and always deep condition when u decide to wet ur hair, it'll help!
Conair is a CHEAP brand. a Revlon is okay but try CHI. It's really good but expensive. Or try a Remington flat iron. Works relatively well and at a pretty good price. Like $60?

And I also suggest getting this heat protective spray for your hair. It's really good. Get like a CHI one or a Tresseme one. And use leave in conditioner after you shower so it won't be so dry. Mostly put some on the ends. Hope I helped!
try folica.com

im getting this one

it cermatic and tourbline:

a Chi Iron.

Also super skinny serum from Garnier is great, or Salerm silk protein.
babyliss pro ceramic flat iron..its a little pricey but its well worth it...i can straighten my hair in like 20 min max. and mine is very long, thick, and wavy.
DUDE I HAVE THEEE SAME PROBLEM

yeah, i recommend a heat- resistant...stuff

spray, cream, whatever it comes in

protects cuticles from heat and leaves your hair ina better shape
cortex

THE BEST is chi, 2nd is hia
i would suggest GHDs but they can cost a bit, but are well worth it in the long run
