Do you think its bad for black women to straighten their hair?

ok i am black and my hair is really thick, not so long and 100% natural but i hate them!!! i know they say that black women should keep their hair natural and all etc but my hair is so hard and it hurts when i comb them out and they are really difficult to style. its a struggle to get them smoothly in a pony tail. to be honest i am really tempted and considering to get them semi straightened. lots of people think its an injustice for black women to straighten their hair but they are incredibly hard and just plain unbearable!!!! what do you guys think?Do you think its bad for black women to straighten their hair?
This is one of those issues you can be either conservative or liberal about. There is no right or wrong answer, just go with what works best with you. I envy women who can go natural, since my hair was so hard to deal with before I started relaxing it. Natural black hair that is styled right looks amazing, but it was harder for me to keep that look when I was all-natural.

I admit that relaxing hair can lead to problems (some you can manage and some you cannot). For instance, you may have severe breakage if your relaxer is not done right or you can get flakes from dry skin.

However, I am glad I get my hair relaxed since my thick hair is much easier to deal with and manage every day. Well some days, the days after I wash my hair it can be a little haphazard, but with a wrap or straighten I can go nearly two weeks without styling.Do you think its bad for black women to straighten their hair?
I don't think its bad at all.lots of people like you want to straighten their hair and they do.the next day they look great, so go for it. =D
There are many great black women who have straightened their hair.

For example, Condoleeza Rice straightened her hair.
