Exactly how long is 'long' hair for black women?

I heard some black African girls talking the other day about how long their hair was but it was only touching the shoulder.

I think it only comes up to the shoulders. But it actually depends on the girls family backround..some african american girls have diffrent hair growth patterns.Exactly how long is 'long' hair for black women?
As a white man, idk how qualified I am to answer this, But what difference does it make if the woman is black or not? I f at full length it's above her shoulders, it's short hair. If it's shoulder length to her breasts, it's medium. Anything longer than that is long hair, plain %26amp; simple. Yes I know that a black woman's hair is different than most ethnicities, but please, just take a strand of the longest part of her hair and pull downward. If it's below her boobs when it is stretched out, it's long hair.


PS.. all black girls are not African
What is considered ';long'; hair is the same for everyone. The conversation you overheard most likely was dealing with the length of hair being long in relation to the period of time it has taken to grow to that length as course textured hair takes longer to grow on average than finer hair, therefor the length that has accumulated is appreciated that much more.
Well maybe she considers it long because it usually doesn't grow that long, or maybe she has the longest hair in her family. It takes Black women hair a little longer to grow, depending on their family history, and if they have parents or grandparents that have other races breded in them. But the AVERAGE black girl considers were their clavicles are a pretty good length, but LONG hair would be about where your bra strap buckles.
my head of year, a fantastic woman from nigeria used to have hair just upto her ears, and used to say how her hair is really long! but then she told us that's becos black people have really tangly hair and they often have to keep it very short or in braids, in order to keep it manageable. one of my friend completely shaves her head- amazing!
idk, but my friends hair is like 3 feet long and she is black





so i guess there is no limit for us, but it takes longer for black women to grow hair

Their natural hair doesn't grow very fast, so to them shoulder length is super long.
