Hi, I am a African American women and I am going into the military. I will be going to basic training and I was wondering what are some ways that I can maintain my hair during all of the physical activity where I will be sweating. I am in the process of growing out a perm and have been going to Dominican Salons to get my hair straightend via ';blowouts'; Cutting is not an option. I will do braids but I was wondering if anyone could think of any other ways to maintain my hair. Sistahs help me out.....What are some ways black women maintain there hair in basic training for the military?
My mother is half black and she gave me her afro :D My hair is relaxed but I would say braid it, and put some oil in it like Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Sheen Spray it is specifically meant for braids and you can find it in walmart! I use it and it promotes growth, also if you want more growth, take biotin, It help break down proteins and get them to where they need to be. I would just say use a good hydrating shampoo and conditioner too! What are some ways black women maintain there hair in basic training for the military?
Braids are really the only way to maintain it well. You can always just wear it wet and use oils and grease to try to keep it hydrated and from breaking off. But I would still say braids, which would probably have a positive effect on your hair. Good luck!
i'm not a sistah lol but i heard if you put braids it will create breakage in your hair. just wear it out in a ponytail.
They have allowed braids in the miltary I think. My sister told me and she's going for the Air Force. Thank God!!
