Good Hair salons for Black Women's Hair - Please Help?

Hi!





I just moved to NYC, left what had to be the greatest hairdresser that ever touched my hair and now have no one to do my hair here.





I tried a Dominican hair salon in Harlem, and was not satisfied. They got my hair really straight like it had just been permed - which surprising as it may be is not a texture I like.... and made my hair extremely flat and ';blah'; lol. My main problem was the stylists lack of care and the heavy use of heat without what I thought was adequate product for heat protection. It was like a furnace under the dryer and a torture blow-dry





At my old hair stylist I got a wash, conditioner, under dryer, flat iron straighten - with volume and then a ceran wrap under the dryer again for like 5 mins and then comb out.





So if you know any good places anywhere in NYC or Jersey please let me know - the closer to Queens the better!
