Particually for a Black woman teaching in Elementary?

I'm asking this because of an incident that happened with my mom yesterday. Heres the question I asked about it http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;Is this Un Professional hair for a Black Woman teaching at Elementary?
I think it looks super cute and I wish I had that hair. I don't think that is unprofessional at all. Do you know how many teachers I had who looked like they just rolled out of bed - nasty, middle aged women with greasy hair and elastic waistband pants. Now that's unprofessional. I bet your mom was super stylish. If it was a mostly white school, then she was probably being discriminated against. I wouldn't drop it. I'd contact every media outlet, contact the agency, write letters, etc. I'm sure she did not violate any dress code with her hair. And anyway, how can curly hair be unprofessional? That's absurd! Is this Un Professional hair for a Black Woman teaching at Elementary?
I am a teacher and think the hair looks very nice. That is if the woman in the picture is actually what your mom's hair looks like, but I will for sake of argument take your word for it. I would have no problem with a woman having hair like that in class, and would feel it has to be discrimination of some sort if the principal actually pulled her out of class and sent her home for it. (That is if your mom's hair looks like this.)
No, it's not unprofessional. Yes, it may be different and out of the ordinary, if compared to the other teachers, nonetheless, it should be accepted as part of your race. Anything going against this is discrimination and racism. If anything, take it to court. The school district doesn't stand a chance. Good luck.
I answered the other question. Good luck to you and your mom.
